Self portrait at Bethlem Museum of the Mind

In December last year, I delivered a self portrait painted in 2021 to the collection of the Bethlem Museum of the Mind, where it is on loan for two years.

Bethlem Museum of the Mind has a fascinating archive and art collection focusing on the history of Bethlem Royal Hospital, infamous as the ‘Bedlam’ which has inspired several horror books, films, and TV series, most notably Bedlam, a 1946 film with Boris Karloff.

I met with the charming director of the museum, Colin Gale, to hand over the portrait to the Bethlem Museum art collection, which includes work by former patients William Kurelek, Richard Dadd and Louis Wain.

You can read more about the museum HERE.
